About

Very poetic!
Hi Dr Tolentino,
How are you? I’m Juwita, who took one of your modules you taught in NUS, “Sociology of Popular Culture” back in 2006 (wow, now that I think about it, that’s quite some time ago). How have you been, and where are you located now?
Hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Juwita
hi juwita,

best, roland
Dear Mr. Tolentino,
Greetings! We are Hans Antoni A. Lazaro and Robert Paul M. Ronquillo of the class of 4-D of the Ateneo de Manila High School. Our purpose for writing to you today is to request an informational interview from you.
We are current 4th year high school students here in the Ateneo de Manila High School. Our reason behind the interview is due to our English school project called Spotlight On the Filipino Author or SOFA. This project’s objective is to look for a Filipino author of fiction or non-fiction and create a webpage containing the author’s background, works, and other information. In this interview, we do not aim to acquire information on your personal life or other private information. We only seek to know matters that are related to you being an author such as your views, notions, opinions on certain matters, tips, purpose, motivation, literary influences, etc. behind your writing.
The interview that we are requesting will be brief, half an hour at the most. Of course, when and where the interview will take place will be up to you. If willing, kindly reply to this mail. We apologize if this kind of approach is informal or inappropriate. Regardless, thank you for taking the time to read this letter and considering our request.
Sincerely,
Hans Antoni A. Lazaro & Robert Paul M. Ronquillo

Ginoong Tolentino,
Magandang Araw!
Aeson Luiz C. DelaCruz
Dear Mr. Tolentino,
I’m Kristine Santos, a graduate assistant from the Ateneo History department. I’m not sure if you’ve received my mail earlier last week but I was asking a request to use one of your pictures of Bantayog ng mga Bayani (the one that shows the names of EdJop and Emmanuel Lacaba) for the poster of one of our events, a talk about remembering the Anti-Marcos Movement. The talk will be given by Mr. Lisandro Claudio, a lecturer from the History Department, and will be held this afternoon, at 4:30-6:00 p.m. We hope that you would allow the use of this picture and you are more than welcome to attend the event.
Sincerely,
Kristine Santos

The play is by ViARE, a student theater organization of the University of Asia and the Pacific. We are opening the show free for bloggers, writers and critics as guests of the organization. You may also invite a fellow writer with you on the date.
Please update me on your status on or before November 28, 2010.

Good day, Sir Tolentino!
Congrats on being such an amazing Filipino writer using Tagalog as a medium in expressing your opinions. My filipino college prof, Mr. Tenorio, has recommended your essay “Sharon Cuneta at ang perpetwal na birhen” for my paper in analyzing Sharon Cuneta as pop culture. It was such an interesting read and I sincerely hope that I did justice in understanding such an essay.
Hi -
Si Arlene po ito from New Zealand. We met very briefly at the PSG meeting during the ICAS/AAS conference in Honolulu.
I am planning to go on sabbatical next year, and hoping to work on something along the lines of gender empowerment through film, focusing on the Philippine experience. I would like to be able to talk to you more about this.
I would really appreciate hearing from you soon.
Kind regards,
Arlene Ozanne
